"This piece is inspired by typical Mexican aprons with boxy silhouettes and bizarre cut outs. These are also the elements Camila Banzo made visible in the first design she made for her upcycling brand, Banzo, which today is an example of how we could make fashion more sustainable." Camila Banzo

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Camila Banzo started deconstructing and upcycling preexisting garments from her vintage shop, La Vintaje, inspired by the world she observed while living in Mexico City, her hometown. BANZO, her eponymous label, was born in 2021 thanks to the need of creation, of being able to transform emotion into something tangible, beautiful, and to explore the bond between memories and clothes. The artisanal approach to each piece that is re-crafted makes every one of them one-of-a-kind.
