NEW DATE BY POPULAR DEMAND!! Join Cassandra to experiment with intuitive weaving through her active meditation approach. An opportunity for your hands to move freely and your mind to be still—or get lost in chisme as we’ll be making among others.

🗓️ Saturday, November 22nd | 4 to 7pm
📍 67 West St., Studio 513

"In my studio, I create space for mindfulness and exploration. As a self-taught artist, my practice has developed in an instinctive, flexible way. I’m interested in the making; the process. Always searching for the flow." Cassandra Mayela Allen

This workshop is a casual, communal session rather than a formal class, no experience required. You will learn how to set up the warp on your loom and basic weaving techniques.

Various upcycled materials will be used, including wool donated from the Wool Skirts exhibition and capsule. You’re also welcome to bring your own ephemera if you like!

Registration includes all materials needed to make a small wall hanging. We will provide handmade wooden frame looms (yours to keep for an extra fee), warp thread and fabric scraps. While we’ll have enough supplies for everyone, feel free to bring anything special you'd like to add.
