In this textile workshops with artist participants will explore collage through fabric reclaimed fabrics and hand-sewn mark-making. Working with found and recycled textiles, participants will experiment with layering, texture, composition, and stitching techniques drawn from Fanny’s artistic practice.

🗓️ Saturday, May 16th | 4 to 6pm
📍 67 West St., Studio 513

Working with found and reclaimed materials, you will learn how to build visual compositions by combining texture, color, and form. The workshop introduces key techniques from Fanny’s practice, including backstitch (used as a continuous drawing line), running stitch for mark-making, and simple fabric gluing as an alternative or complement to stitching, creating a more layered collage effect.

Participants can choose to work on a flat fabric surface designed to be displayed as a wall piece, or bring a personal garment or functional object to work directly onto!

You will cut, arrange, stitch, and assemble your materials into a finished textile collage, guided through both technique and composition. No prior experience is required.

All materials will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring any textiles or objects they would like to incorporate.
